A Family Band

"Ayllu" is from the indigenous Quechua word for "family." Our "family" band is made up of musicians from Bolivia, Argentina, Peru, Mexico and the Midwestern United States. We are brothers and sisters, not by blood, but through song. Each song is a bond--to each other, our roots and the rhythms of the earth.

For the 2nd year in a row, Ayllu was honored to play to a full house at the Kansas City Folk Fest in Crown Center. It was the last day of the Folk Alliance International Conference with thousands of attending musicians and music industry guests from all over the world. It was also our first show with our newest member, the very talented Tina Bilberry, on violin. The concert aired live on 90.1 FM Kansas City Community Radio and was streamed internationally. Thank you to everyone who attended and tuned in!

The week before the festival, we were asked to share a song on the morning show Kansas City Live, KSHB TV 41. If you missed the broadcast, click on the photo above to watch a re-run.
